Face Mists: Summer Face Refreshment

I can't get enough face mists. They have become one of my newest obsessions of beauty products. Whether I use them to prime my face, set my makeup, or just for the hydration and refreshment, they are perfect and oh so refreshing on a hot summer day. I just can't get enough of them!
Here is my current collection and my thoughts on each:

ELF Makeup Mist & Set
This was probably the first face mist that I ever owned. The price point made it a great way to try a "setting spray". While I don't think it necessarily extends the wear of my makeup, I use it to foil eye shadows and highlights as well as the last step of my makeup to make sure my face doesn't look too powdery. It works wonderful for both these things and for $3.00 you can't beat the price. The price point makes this around $1.49 an ounce. The packaging and sprayer are nothing special but get the job done. I have repurchased it in the past and will continue to do so in the future.

Urban Decay All Nighter
 I use this when I do want my makeup to last a really long time or if I am going to a special event and it really gets the job done. All I can say is good things about it. So if you want your makeup to look like you just put in on when really it was hours ago then this is the spray for you. The price point is higher as you would expect with a higher end brand as it sells for $30.00 for 4 ounces which makes it $7.50 an ounce.  A bottle lasts me quite a while, but I don't use it everyday. I will repurchase it in the future.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water

I mainly use this as primer water. I have dry skin and it gives me some hydration and seems to really help my makeup "stick" to my skin but not in a bad way. This actually seems to help so that my makeup does not cling to dry patches. I will also use it as a finishing spray. This spray is free of silicone, alcohol, and oil. Smashbox says that it can be stored in the fridge so that it will also be cooling. I would really like to try that but I am afraid I would just forget it in the fridge. I like the sprayer on this packaging. Overall, it does seem to extend the wear of my makeup, though I will admit sometimes it feels like I am just using really expensive water. This product usually retails for $32.00 for 3.9 ounces which makes it $8.21 per ounce I had a hard time convincing myself to give it a try. I believe that I may repurchase it in the future but right now it does not have a "must have" status in my stash. 

Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist
This is the first face mist that I owned that was not a "setting spray". It claims to hydrate, tone, and refresh and can be use on hair as well as your face according to the Juice Beauty website. I have dry skin and suffer from some redness around my nose and my mouth so I thought this would be a great addition to my face care routine.  I often use this after I cleanse my face, before I  put on moisturizers or face creams. I also use it sometimes as a final step of my makeup to make sure things don't look too powdery. But mostly I use this just randomly throughout the day to feel refreshed and hydrated. This product retails for $22.00 for 6.75 ounces which makes it $3.26 per ounce. I thought this sounded like a pretty good deal for a face mist especially one with organic ingredients. Overall, I like this product and it leaves my face feeling hydrated and refreshed, but I do not really care for the scent. I use it anyway but I doubt I will repurchase it.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray
I bought this because I had heard lots of great things about this brand plus it was a great price. Again, I wanted this for hydration and refreshment for my face. Not only does it do that but it smells AMAZING! I love rose scents and this face mist has a great rose scent. I love it! When I spray it on my face, it is pure bliss. It is like a spa in a bottle for me! I use this after I cleanse, before moisturizer, as a final step in my makeup, and whenever it is nearby! It is great for using after your makeup is on as well! For the price, this can't be beat for a refreshing hydrating face mist. I bought this at Ulta where the largest bottle I saw was 4 ounces for $7.00 which makes it $1.75 per ounce, but on Mario Badescu's website there is an 8 ounce bottle for $12.00 which makes the price $1.50 per ounce. That is practically the same as the ELF Makeup Mist. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a refreshing face mist. I will definitely repurchase this (next time in the larger size) and I plan to get a small bottle to put in my purse.

Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist
I bought this when I went on a trip and didn't pack any kind of face mist. Yes, I really am that obsessed with face mists that I had to buy one to have on my trip. I stopped at a Target on the way and picked this up. The word hydrating in the name drew me in to this particular mist and I had heard so many good things about Pixi's Glow Tonic so I grabbed this one and was on my way. I thought it was a little pricey compared to my Mario Badescu that I had left at home (gosh I need to buy one for travel asap) but it would have to do because there was not an Ulta nearby. It retails for $15.00 for 2.7 ounces of product which makes it $5.56 per ounce. Overall, this face mist is just OK. I have had it to burn my eyes when I used too much and didn't have my eyes closed tight enough. I may repurchase this product or try a different Pixi face mist in the future such as the Glow Mist.

Avene Thermal Spring Water
I received this is my July Ipsy bag. This product claims to be naturally soothing. I have only used it a couple times and so far I like it but I am not sure that it lives up to its claims just yet. It does have me very intrigued and I am considering not only really putting this small size to the test but purchasing the larger size with an Ipsy code for money off so that I can give it a longer test run. This product costs $18.50 for 10.58 ounces (the largest size offered) which is $1.75 an ounce. But am I really just paying that for water? It claims to be clinically proven and have a neutral pH and rich trace elements. Also, it is said to be good for redness which is something I am constantly battling.

None of these face mists have given me any kind of negative reaction or caused any breakouts.

Overall, it really depends on what you want out of your face mist to decide which is the best for you.

Today's Mail: Klorane Package

I was excited today when there was a package sitting on my doorstep.

It was my order from Klorane. I was introduced to this brand through Ipsy when I received a sample of theWaterproof Floral Water Make-up Remover with Soothing Cornflower. Since it was a sample size, I didn't use it right away but put it in my travel bag. A couple month's passed before I actually used the makeup remover, but when I did it was love at first use. It did NOT sting at all and did a great job of removing my makeup. I also liked that it was not dual phase so I didn't have to worry about making sure I shake it before use. This month Ipsy had a brand deal with Klorane for 20 percent off your order and I am getting low on my makeup remover so I thought it was a perfect time to make an order. I was also in need of dry shampoo and since their dry shampoo has won The Best of Beauty by Allure Award, I thought it would be worth a try. Also, there was the added bonus that with both these products after the discount I would still qualify for free shipping. (I hate paying for shipping. I would rather spend more and get more products any day than to pay for shipping.) I have really oily hair so I picked out the dry shampoo with nettle for oily hair. I was also able to pick out one free sample and I chose the shampoo with mango butter. I thought it sounded like a great summer scent and with beach trips, and chlorine water from the pool my hair might could use some soothing moisture by the end of the summer.

I will update when I have given the shampoos a try to let you know my opinions on them.

*Update: So far I LOVE the dry shampoo. It does give a slight white cast when you first use it, but it is less of a white cast than I have had with many other dry shampoos and it brushes out fairly easily. This is quickly becoming my absolute favorite dry shampoo. Batiste has been in my number one spot for some time. The only reason this may not take the number one spot from Batiste would be because I have to order it online and can't find it in store. This dry shampoo really helps getting rid of the oil in my hair and gives me some volume. I highly recommend it!

**UPDATE: I was browsing the "What's new" section at Ulta and Klorane is now carried at Ulta but online only!! I was so excited that means I could add this awesome dry shampoo to an order to meet free shipping!! I did not see the make-up remover on the website but hopefully it will be added soon!
